Pont Neuf on the left with the floating wash-house and barges moored on the quay. Hazy city background. This lavoir or wash-house was permanently moored next to the Pont Neuf for the working classes to wash their laundry. Johan Jongkind painted this particular lavoir in 1850 and Mortimer Menpes in 1909.
